High blood pressure is a product of our modern lifestyles. A person can look healthy on the outside but looks do not tell you everything. For example, someone may not be overweight but they may have a very poor diet and smoke 20 cigarettes each day. This is clearly unhealthy.

Anyway, I tried my hands making a healthy version of a popular traditional Indian fudge. Often made during festivals and very common in India especially Rajasthan, its called Mohantal. Made with chickpea flour, the ratio of ingredients in this traditional and scrumptious sweet will make your diet chart stumble. With one cup each of chickpea flour, sugar and clarified butter I never got interested to try it at home, but have eaten it many times at my grandmothers' home. And believe me you can't stop with just one piece of traditionally made Mohantal.

Method of making: grind the roasted highland barley into flour, and mix it with Desi Ghee. Tibetan people roast the barley seeds before grinding them into flour. And Tibetan people do not remove the husk of the barley.

Modern life style is fast paced and many people just go to office, slog there and then hit the bar and eat up anything and then tired, they just plop on the bed. This life style has its repercussions and one of these is obesity. A combination of obesity and lack of exercise is a warning that you may be prey to diabetes.

Another way to achieve relief from earaches is to chop up a radish into very small pieces. Add these radish bits into mustard oil and heat it up. Then, put the resulting oil into a bottle. Whenever an earache pops up, put a couple of drops into the affected ear for rapid relief.

The other main contributor is stress. Some people think that stress is good, they say that they "thrive on stress". If you say this too, don't kid yourself. Stress is not good. Stress is bad. Stress kills you in many ways, including via high b.p.

The truth is actually somewhere between the middle. I'm of the opinion that what you put in your body is as important as what you put on it. This will not tell you what not to eat here but rather what to eat for beautiful skin. So ladies make notes on how to feed your skin.

There was a time when it was difficult finding ingredients for cooking Indian food. But not anymore. Most supermarkets have international food counters that store Indian spices and sauces. Also, there must be a local Indian store near where you live. Go pick up stuff and cook up an Indian storm, literally!
